Description

As you climb the crater of this volcano, you will have magnificent views over the Aeolian Islands and see the precursers of the prodigious spectacle to come when you get to the top. A tour of the actual crater reveals the intense activity of the Vulcano della Fossa, consisting of the famous fumaroles, which condense into very fragile crystals when hot, colouring the stone red and ochre. Grandiose!
