Description

Designmuseum Danmark, the Danish Museum of Art and Design, is housed in the Frederiks Hospital, designed by Eigtved. The museum charts the history of design from a Danish perspective, from Art Nouveau to the present day. A treat for amateurs and experts alike, exhibits include work by cult designers and some rare pieces. One room is dedicated to Arne Jacobsen (1902-71), father of Scandinavian Modernism. There is also a collection of European and Oriental decorative arts and superb glassware. Temporary exhibitions.
