Useful information

Description

Housed in a building designed by P Busmann and G Haberer, the Ludwig Museum, with its jagged roof, provides a striking contrast with the city's Gothic cathedral and railway station. Pride of place is given to 20C art, with work from most major movements: Expressionism, Die Brücke, Der Blaue Reiter, Constructivism, Bauhaus, New Objectivity etc, right up to Pop Art and contemporary art. There is also a museum of the history of photography, which opens for temporary exhibitions.
