Kinkaku-ji
The Green Guide

Useful information

Description

The crowds that flock here bear witness to the World Heritage Site status of the Kinkaku-ji, or Golden Pavilion (14C). It offers a mesmerising vision reflected in the shimmering waters of the lake. The name Kinkaku-ji comes from the top two floors that are covered in gold leaf, while the edifice itself is made up of three different architectural styles: a nobleman's house, a samurai house and a Zen temple. Take a walk along the winding peaceful paths of the park.
