Useful information

Description

Today the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Palacio Torre Tagle is a favourite with picture postcard publishers. Begun in 1690 and finished in 1735 by Marquis Torre Tagle, this small palace is reckoned to be one of the subtlest examples of colonial architecture in Lima. Andalusian, Moorish and Creole inspirations rub shoulders harmoniously and delicately. Two Mudejar-style balconies rich in intricate carving flank the huge white stone portal.
