Useful information

Description

Liverpool's maritime past is highlighted in this museum via a series of exhibitions on the history of shipbuilding, the development of the port, navigation, as well as a display of paintings and models. The most moving part of the exhibition is the section devoted to the 9 million emigrants who passed through Liverpool between 1830 and 1930 on their way to the New World. On the third floor, the International Slavery Museum evokes the story and consequences of slavery from colonialism to the Ku Klux Klan.
