Useful information

Description

The Gherkin is the name Londoners have given to the Swiss Re building, one of the most imposing additions to the London skyline in recent years. Designed by Lord Norman Foster, it was completed in 2003. Although not open to the public, it is possible (subject to advance booking and great expense) to hold events 180m up in the top-floor restaurant, which offers stunning 360° views through its glass dome.
