Description

A Victorian creation but in the Italian Renaissance style, the Albert Hall (1867 to 1871) is brick built with a terracotta frieze bringing to mind the triumph of Art and Literature and a metal Dome. Many very varied activities take place there from political meetings to pop concerts by way of boxing matches and for eight consecutive weeks it's the setting for the famous «Proms» (Promenade concerts).
