Description

The museum holds paintings, sketches, drawings and studies by the artist from Alsace Jean-Jacques Henner (1829-1905): numerous portraits with true realism then after a trip to Italy, his work included some harmonious figures in landscapes: nymphs and water nymphs with bright carnations floating out from the twilight depths. His nudes in shades of mother-of-pearl made him very popular in upper class circles.
