Surrounded by well-tended lawns, Tolquhon Castle is a well-worn stone castle whose rectangular plan is laid out around an inner courtyard. Interesting features include the impressive gatehouse adorned with curious sculptured figures, an overhanging round tower, the paved main staircase, the long gallery lined in bookshelves, Tarves Tomb and the drainage system.
