Description

Rome's French church was constructed between 1518 and 1589, thanks to the patronage of Henri II, Henri III and Catherine de Médicis. It is noteworthy above all for three extraordinary paintings (1599-1600) by Caravaggio, depicting scenes from the Life of St Matthew.
