Useful information

Description

The Church of Our lady of Vladimir, where Dostoyevsky was a parishioner, was built in 1761 on the former site of a wooden church, perhaps by Trezzini. In 1783, Quarenghi had a bell tower built next to it. Closed during the Soviet regime, it was reopened for worship in 1990. Since then this very lively parish has attracted numerous believers. It boasts many beautiful icons including a highly venerated one of the Virgin of Vladimir.
