Description

Located in the former Church of St Nicholas (1838), this is the only museum in Russia - and one of the largest in the world - devoted to the Great North. Divided into four sections, the Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic presents exhibitions on nature in the polar regions, the history of the conquest of the Great North, and the economy and culture of Nordic peoples. Numerous slide shows, models, paintings, crafts by local peoples and stuffed animals.
