Useful information

Description

This burial place of a vizir of the VI Dynasty is known as the "doctor's tomb" due to its famous illustrations of surgical scenes, such as operations on a toe, a thumb, and circumcision, a procedure carried out on boys aged about ten. Although not obligatory, it was a sign of recognition vis-à-vis the Libyans, as after certain battles the Egyptians emasculated the uncircumcised dead to count the number of enemies killed.
