Useful information

Description

Within the Prieuré de St Maurice (priory church), part of the old Senlis royal château complex, is the Musée de la Vénerie, a museum with theme-based rooms dedicated to hunting. This subject inspired many an artist: Oudry, Carle Vernet, Rosa Bonheur and Charles-Jean Hallo (who founded the museum). On the walls, there are trophies and stags' antlers, hunting uniforms and hunting badges (a hunting crew's most sought-after insignia), hunting knives, cornets... Tally ho!
