An absolute must! This scientific, educational and cultural centre puts on temporary and permanent exhibitions on volcanoes, earthquakes and cyclones. Take the time to watch the "Volcans des Antilles" documentary, which is extremely well made, with beautiful camerawork and an informative commentary. The building itself, a long white parallelepiped, was designed in line with cutting-edge anti-seismic techniques: it stands on a circular barrel and a series of pillars and the floor is upheld by elastomer, synthetic rubber.
