Description
The cradle of the hippie movement in the 1960s, this lively and densely populated bohemian neighbourhood stretches along English Bay. Its eclectic architecture, small shops, organic markets, relaxed atmosphere and beach make it a favourite spot for UBC students, who are often to be found making the most of the huge saltwater swimming pool. Nearby in Vanier Park are the Vancouver Museum, H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and Vancouver Maritime Museum.
