This splendid 13C castle was built at the confluence of the River Kysuce and River Vah to guard the entrance of Žilina on the Silesian side. The castle has been extended several times by successive families who occupied it. In the 1920s, the Csakych family completely renovated it, giving it its current form. It houses the Považské Múzeum with its highly interesting exhibition on the history of silversmithing in Slovakia.
