The lovely long sandy beach of Katsurahama lined in pine trees forms a headland at the southernmost tip of Urado Bay, a few kilometres from Kochi. On the promenade by the beach stands a statue of Sakamoto Ryoma (1836-1867) a local hero and one of the leaders of the anti-shogun movement. On the other side of the beach, the Tosa Token Center organises Tosa dog fights.
