Useful information

Description

This was the city's first municipal museum. Founded in the mid-19C by two local naturalists, Jean-Baptiste Vérany and Jean-Baptiste Barla, its holdings contain over one million specimens (zoology, botany and geology) from all over the world. It is rightly proud of its impressive collection of exotic birds and unique set of 6,800 watercolours and 7,000 casts of mushrooms.
