Built in 1826 in the Oriental style, the Egyptian Bridge is decorated with four bronze sphinxes. Physics teachers often tell an event that occurred on the bridge to Russian schoolchildren in their lessons on resonance. In January 1905 the stone bridge collapsed under the weight of a cavalry regiment whose regular steps coincided with the oscillations of the bridge. But specialists believe the accident was due to worn metallic elements. The bridge was rebuilt in 1955.
